Paul Ellison Lee was born on February 15, 1926 to Robert E. Lee and Sarah Isabelle Lee, née Rogers, in the family home in Shady Side, Maryland. He served in the US Navy and during World War II he operated and landed craft on D-Day and across the Rhine River. The boat was destroyed by a sea mine and Lee was awarded a Purple Heart. He married Ruth E. Meyer and raised three children, Paul E. Junior, Karla J. (Walker), and
Ruth M. (Williams). He worked for C&P Telephone Company for 42 years. Paul E. Lee passed away on May 6, 2015 and was laid to rest at Woodfield Cemetery in Galesville, Maryland.
